The Association of Banks clarified that the major banks’ initiative to allocate 90 million dinars to support the health and education sectors, which was announced last Sunday, will be managed through a special account at the Central Bank of Jordan and under its supervision and oversight.

The Association explained that an account will be opened at the Central Bank under the name “Association of Banks Initiative / Building Schools and Health Centers,” and the funds will be deposited directly into this account by banks operating in Jordan. The Association of Banks will be the authorized signatory for the account.

The Association further noted that the government will identify 18 schools across the Kingdom, in various governorates, which are not included in the current year’s general budget, as a first phase to be constructed through the initiative.
