The Association of Banks in Jordan is pleased to announce the launch of the first edition of the Jordan Green Finance and Investment Guide, developed in partnership with the GIZ-implemented Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN) Project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The guide has been developed as a practical reference to support Jordanian industries and businesses in identifying, structuring, and accessing financing for green projects.
It provides an overview of green finance concepts, national policy alignment, sector-specific green investment opportunities, and available financing instruments in Jordan, with a focus on areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, water and wastewater management, waste reduction, circular economy, green buildings, cleaner production, and sustainable transport.
This first edition aims to help bridge information gaps between businesses, financial institutions, and support mechanisms, while contributing to Jordan’s broader transition toward a greener, more inclusive, and more resilient economy.
The guide also supports alignment with key national frameworks, including the Jordan National Green Taxonomy, the Central Bank of Jordan Green Finance Strategy 2023–2028, and the Economic Modernization Vision.
It should be noted that the information presented in this Guide on available green finance and investment products and services was compiled by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management through desk research, focus group discussions, consultations with financial institutions, and surveys conducted directly with those institutions.
While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information, this Guide should not be considered an exhaustive inventory of all green finance and investment products, services, and financing mechanisms currently available in the Jordanian market.
As the green finance landscape in Jordan continues to evolve, this guide will serve as a living document and will be updated periodically to reflect new financing tools, market developments, institutional updates, and lessons learned from implementation.
