
The Minister of Social Development, Wafa Bani Mustafa, inaugurated the Behavioral Adjustment and Child Rehabilitation Center in Birin, Zarqa Governorate, on Monday. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Banks in Jordan, Basem Khalil Al-Salem.
Minister Bani Mustafa stated, “We are witnessing the opening of this landmark institution, which stands as a testament to collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Public Security Directorate, as well as a partnership we take pride in with the private sector. This partnership reflects our commitment to social responsibility in alignment with national priorities and the needs of the local community.”
She added that the center provides psychological, rehabilitative, and residential services to beneficiaries in the ministry’s care facilities, including orphans, children without family support, and those in conflict with the law who suffer from mental health or substance abuse challenges. The center offers these services within a safe and healthy environment as part of the ministry’s role in supporting care home residents. In addition to the medical clinic affiliated with the center, which also provides its healthcare services to the local community.
The minister praised the support provided by the Association of Banks in Jordan and Dr. Shatha Adas for their contributions to the establishment of this center and expressed appreciation for the cooperation with the Birin Municipality.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Banks in Jordan, Basem Khalil Al-Salem, remarked, “This pioneering project embodies the highest levels of social responsibility and partnership, aiming to deliver outstanding services that protect and care for our children while providing opportunities for a better future.” He reiterated the association’s ongoing support for the ministry’s efforts in this field.
He further emphasized that the establishment of the center reflects the Ministry of Social Development’s visionary approach to serving the local community and addressing the urgent needs of the cases it receives in its care facilities.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament Naseem Al-Abadi, Chairman of the Zarqa Governorate Council Faisal Al-Zawahrah, Director General of the Association of Banks in Jordan Dr. Maher Al-Mahrouq, Birin Mayor Wahbi Al-Zawahrah, along with several representatives from the local community, ministry officials, and directors of social development in Zarqa Governorate.
